Becoming Parents through IVF – “A Roaring Industry in India”

Delhi IVF having seen it all through its journey in the last 25 years !!

When we say that India is a developing country, we mean it based on various things that have been proven as improving in the past many years and there continues to be magnificent acceleration. With 600 million young people currently in the nation, India is about to become the world’s youngest country by the year 2020. Thus, this enormous number is the reason the country is going through a phase of change in lifestyle, change in trends, acceptance, thoughts, perceptions, etc etc. Moreover, the major progress is people openly talking about sanitary pads, menstrual cycles, sex, etc. which were earlier just a taboo and being looked down to socially and we only saw them in the Bollywood movies. In terms of progress in the medical field and social well-being, the youth are moving ahead and openly welcoming the topics like adoption, IVF, Altruistic Surrogacy and egg freezing.

What is IVF? – No More a Question

Along with the developments in various industries, India has specifically seen a rise in the IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) services market from $256.0 million in 2016 and expected to reach $829.5 million by 2023 as reported by Allied Market Research (AMR). If we talk about IVF, then it is a procedure of retrieving the eggs from the ovaries of a female and fertilizing them with the sperm of her male partner in a Petri-dish in an IVF lab for almost 2-3 days and after the fertilization, healthy embryos are transferred back into the uterus of a woman to achieve pregnancy. Total of 27.5 million couples are suffering from childlessness currently in India and the reason for this is simple, late marriages, unbearable stress, smoking, women getting career oriented. These changes have pushed the social stigma backward related to IVF that people used to hide their problems and were afraid to share their issues with a doctor.

Major Factors Which Boomed the IVF Industry

The Altruistic Surrogacy Regulation Bill 2016, Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill 2017 and sanction of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code are the other huge reasons of maximum people accepting these procedures openly. Majorly, these bills have played an important role in changing the mindsets and providing hope to people who had loosed their hope of experiencing the parenthood.

Do You Want to Believe in Myths or Success?

Also, the developments and advancements in technologies have shown the great results over the years and have disappeared the myths about IVF that babies born through IVF are abnormal and unhealthy. Though, this is an exception and can also be a case in natural birth. That’s why people are taking up these procedures trustfully; after all, the only aim is to bring a healthy baby into this awesome world.

From the view of doctors, they believe in anyhow fulfilling the dream of the childless couples and complete their families.
