Who is IUI Treatment For?

IUI works best when the fertility challenge is moderate rather than complex.

Unexplained infertility: Couples trying for 12 months or more with no identified cause. IUI with mild stimulation improves conception chances in this group.

Mild male factor infertility: If sperm count or motility is slightly below normal, IUI places a concentrated washed sample directly in the uterus, improving the odds.

Cervical factor infertility: When cervical mucus is hostile to sperm, IUI bypasses the cervix completely.

Single women or same-sex female couples: IUI with donor sperm is a straightforward and widely used option.

Ovulatory disorders: Women who do not ovulate regularly can be given mild stimulation alongside IUI to improve timing.
